Instax Lesson

So far my experience with Instax has been incredibly good, I love that there is an alternative to the good old Polaroids that I loved so much. However, when mixed with snow, gloves, really low temperatures and my excitement about winter and snow, this is what happened.

I reckon that the chemicals in the bottom leaked and that -this is the lesson- you should keep your photos facing up while developing. Is whether that or some sort of message from outer space that I am too silly to understand. Anyway I kind of like them.

The snow is all gone by now, the sun is shinning and the sky is blue. I definitely should try to shoot a couple new Instax today. Happy Sunday everyone! x

It's All About Snow

After the two Los Roques posts this is quite a contrast. Imagine how I feel. Still missing the Caribbean (where I was 10 days ago) but hoping to go out tomorrow in the snow and play. I think is worth to mention that on Monday I saw snow for the first time, and that today I saw snow falling for the first time... on Monday when I woke up the snow was already there, like a belated Christmas miracle. Oh yes, I know how I sound, but you see, I have never got the chance of saying that sort of corny remarks related to snow before, so I'm making up for the lost years :)

While we are on the subject, the BFI shared a wonderful short film called Snow made in 1963 by Geoffrey Jones today in its Twitter feed. Please enjoy and have a lovely weekend! x

Los Roques II

Morning light in the Gran Roque. Right next to our posada.

Empanadas Shop.

 El Faro.

One of the many many dogs that live in Los Roques.

Francisqui de abajo.

Kite Surf School in Francisqui de Abajo.

Kite Surf School.

Beautiful warn white sand in the almost deserted beach.

Odyssey II. Best or worst name for a boat?

Full rainbow, just before a quick storm.
(That happens approximately every 2 hours in Los Roques)

Dog in window.

This shop is right next to the airport. Duty Free?

People waiting for the plane. The airport is right next to this pier.

 Next to the airport.

Our plane is here but we don't want to go... ever! :(

I uploaded a mini video (absolutely raw) of Los Roques Airport space/pier/beach, so you can see how the last 5 photos are connected in space.

Los Roques, Venezuela, mamá, sun, Caribbean sea, warm weather I miss you!

Los Roques I

The only Francisqui Restaurant.

My other permanent companion.

Boats and El Gran Roque far away.

Sandy, a lovely new friend.

Café Arrecife / La Merienda.

My mum taking photos behind the tree.

Sunset in El Gran Roque.

Kids, dogs, houses and a Christmas tree.

Los Roques, I'm sure is one of the most beautiful places in Earth. It's an 'archipiélago' that means: a chain of islands and coral reefs in the Caribbean Sea about 166 km north of Venezuela. According to Wikipedia there are approximately 350 islands, cays and islets in a total area of 40.61 square kilometers.

Starting this year spending three days there was an amazing privilege (thanks mum, you are definitely the best!), and watching the photos again while there's zero degrees outside it's keeping me warm and happy.

There will be another post with some more pics. This place is so beautiful that is impossible not to go crazy taking pictures ;)
