Windsor / Eton

Last month we grab one of those cool Zipcars and went to BBQ at a friend's house somewhere near Ascot. On our way we stop to have cream tea in Windsor and walk around Eton because why not?

These are the photos I manage to download before someone stole my phone (boo!). Last photo one is my super £ 1,00 souvenir (:

Shuffle Festival @ St. Clements Social Club

St. Clements is a fomer mental facility in Mile End that recently opened its doors again to give place to a very peculiar Social Club. To help get the word out Danny Boyle*, the friendlier neighbour they could wish for, organised a mini Film Festival called Shuffle.

Both Shuffle and St. Clements are incredible good ideas, so watch this space for a second Shuffle and go and have a look at that incredible building in East London, they have cafés, bars, music, vintage stuff, nice gardens, incredible stories, and mysterious places for you to enjoy!

*He was always around, you can see him in my shy fan photo ;)

Christmas Time

Morning on the 23rd. On my way to my cooking session in Brixton.

This is how the typical Venezuelan 'pan de jamón' looks on the inside.

And the outside, before the oven.

The Lion, my lovely local pub on Xmas eve.

A very late session of book shopping.

Church St. sunset.

At Rita's: pizza and Chevy Chase :)

Christmas day morning fogginess, my window and my epiphany that I desperately want to
move to house-house now.

American breakfast.

El Comandante. Rita's local pub.

The sun came out, the Off-Licenses were open. Perfect day.

Our improvised tropical Xmas Tree.

Some of the lights (before the mini-fire).

Waiting for the people. Chilling. Full stop.

What's left of Rita's card (after the mini-fire).

Our lovely Christmas dinner: turkey, stuffing, pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, roasted sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and peas. Yumm!

A damson is a plum, in case someone is wondering.

My lovely brand new friends.

Christmas this year was very especial. It was my first Christmas in the UK and the preparations and celebrations lasted from the 23rd till the 26th and they were a really nice British, American, Venezuelan Colombian and Chinese mixture.

Hope next Christmas will be this fun again and Merry (belated) Xmas to you all! :)

In Plane Sight

These are some of the wonderful wonderful sights I saw a year ago when I took a (mini)plane from Paris to London. First, la campagne Française, then the English Riviera (not quite I reckon, but I like the term) and finally, Windsor Castle. This was a really cool flight, ignoring the part where i thought the (mini)plane could crash at any moment, I got to see some spectacular views of both countrysides (this is exotic for me) and a lovely selection of greens and blues.

PS. Photos are not great, but well, you get the idea, right? Also, I think I already published that last photo, but I have a lousy memory, that's one of the reasons why I take so many photos... all the time.

Images belong to the 25-26 of June weekend, a year ago. Saturday morning I visited The Book Club and attended an Open Day at beautiful Goldsmiths University. In the afternoon, took a train to Castle Cary and traveled to wonderful/legendary/overwhelming Glastonbury Festival (photos here), expend there one night and one day and went back to London on Sunday night. Those were some really hectic 48 hours. I really going to miss British summer festivals this year!
